Just as Jesus turned water into wine to prove that “He’s the source of life,” Doc Hendley and his foundation are proving that turning contaminated water into clean water is saving thousands of lives for those in need around the world.

“When the idea came to me to start Wine to Water the only real job experience I had was tending bar. I dreamed of building an organization that fought water-related death and disease using different methods than anyone else. So, I started raising money to fight this water epidemic the best way I knew how, by pouring wine and playing music…” — Doc Hendley, Founder, and President

Since the beginning of his endeavor in 2004, Doc Hendley’s efforts have given more than 500,000 people clean water in countries such as Sudan, India, Cambodia, Uganda, Ethiopia, Peru, South Africa and Kenya. By forging a like-minded community that continues to grow with volunteers and partnerships, “Wine to Water” has been able to raise enough awareness to bring technological advancements in water renewability to countries that were plagued by water-related diseases.

Not only Is “Doc” a published author of a 2012 book titled, ” Wine to Water; A Bartender’s Quest to bring Clean Water to the World”  but he was also chosen as one of CNN’s Top 10 Finalists for Hero of the Year. His book describes a man that has been shot at by Janjaweed militia, dug numerous graves in the desert, and lost many friends trying to advance humanitarian efforts, and continues to fight for the cause.

Earlier this month, Presco partner, “SiteOne Landscape Supply” invited Doc Hendley to speak at the 2018 Supplier Summit. After hearing Doc’s incredible story and what he is doing to help the world’s water crisis, Presco Key Account Manager CJ Freeman and the other SiteOne suppliers worked together to assemble 500 water filtration units. This effort will allow for 500 families from around the world to have safe drinking water for 10 years!

Building water filters after hearing Doc’s story was an incredible experience. It was great to know that the next person handling that water filter would be the one benefiting from the clean water. “CJ Freeman, Presco Key Account Manager,

Presco is proud to have individuals like CJ Freeman on our team representing our core values and the true meaning of “community.”
