It has been a goal at Presco for many years to improve the quality of our Roll Flagging product, and now we can proudly say we most certainly have! With the introduction of our newest slitting machine, “The Catbridge” (aka Big Cat), Presco’s ability to produce our roll flagging products has just become much more efficient.
This new machine includes many upgrades using modern technology. Modern robotic controls allow the wind cycles of the machine to begin, end and begin again automatically. Cores are automatically sorted and placed in the proper position on the wind shafts. Roll labels are automatically printed and applied. From a safety perspective, the machine has light curtains and zone sensors to form an invisible barrier around the entire machine. If anyone enters these areas while the machine is running, it shuts down immediately and is placed into a safe mode. Other safety upgrades include fencing and guards that shut down the machine when opened.
