Not only is today International Women’s day, but from March 3-9 it is also Women In Construction Week. The National Association of Women in Construction (NAWIC) celebrates this week every year, and it is one of the many ways they promote and encourage women to rise above the enormous obstacles that are still faced within a male-dominated industry.

With the construction field estimated to grow 3% in 2019, this will open up nearly 2 million new jobs and create a much greater opportunity for women to make their presence known.  Although the struggle for equality is still a REAL thing in this particular field, it appears progress is being made as one-third of companies promoted a woman to a senior position last year.
