San Diego Sheriffs Department Search and Rescue, K9 Unit

The unit trains with search and rescue dogs 2-3 days a week.  The 15 members of the unit alternate hiding from the dogs in urban and rural areas of San Diego County.  As they “lay a trail” they mark turns with Presco flagging tape. Often, several members are hiding at the same time and their trails (scent paths) cross one another.  When training the dogs they need to be sure the dog is choosing the correct scent path to follow.  Presco provided multiple rolls of flagging tape with patterns and colors that are unique to each member so the trainers would know if the dogs are following the correct scent.

Thank you so very much. Your tape will make our training so much easier! -Cheri Crane
