The medical and healthcare field is one that revolves around trust, and our guest plays a big part in that.
Beth Guinn is the VP of Engineered Film Sales at Presco, and she joins host Tyler Kern to talk about how Presco formulates vinyl for various medical applications on this episode of The Marking Minute.
Guinn wants the audience to know that Presco has the knowledge and resources to help customers in the medical and healthcare field qualify a vinyl film for their medical device.
Guinn explained that there are several devices in the hospital and medical field that are made out of vinyl. For instance, one is a compression device that prevents blood clots. Other devices with flexible vinyl include blood, urine, IV and ostomy product bags, inflatable bladders, and much more. Presco’s flexible vinyl film can be easily manipulated to directly impact the physical and safety requirements of the finished product.
Presco has the experience to create products that hold up to exact regulatory and performance standards. Guinn said that regulations are different in the U.S. than in Europe, and Presco also offers EVA as an alternative to PVC for regulatory requirements. Guinn said that Presco will help customers navigate these challenges to create a quality vinyl film.
