Concern for the environment is growing – now more than ever, consumers want to take action in any way they can to help alleviate strain on the environment, encourage sustainability and recycle when possible.
With that in mind, Presco is looking for consumers who want to add their voice to the growing support for the utilization of regrind, the industrial plastic scrap left over from manufacturing.
Currently, despite the growing issue of plastic pollution around the globe, regrind is wasted and thrown away instead of being recycled.
This largely comes down to regrind’s aesthetic properties – though it’s just as safe and effective as “virgin” plastic, it features aesthetic deviation that’s not palatable for many consumers.
In addition, regulations like California Proposition 65 have helped create a demand for only these “virgin” plastics.
Presco aims to reuse all scrap as regrind, working toward a more sustainable manufacturing process and doing our part to make the world a better place.
But we can’t do it without you.
Make your voice heard and put a stop to unnecessary waste by accepting aesthetic deviations, expanding your tolerance for color deviation in plastic films, and asking companies to label for Prop 65, rather than formulate to it.
With your help, Presco can work toward a better future for us all.
