In many parts of the world, pet’s are not just “pet’s,” they are our family. They are there for us through the good, the bad and the ugly with nothing but unconditional love and understanding. They tolerate us when we dress them up, squish their cheeks and go for rides in the car without them. Imagining life without your fur baby is something you should never have to do, and that is why pet containment training is one of the most effective ways to ensure the safety and security of your pet.  Here are a few fun facts to get you thinking about your pet’s future:

  • Dogs learn best by visual markers (like marking flags) along with audio tones, and consistent commands.
  • With the correct training and markers, 99% of dogs can be successfully trained.
  • Invest two weeks in training your dog to use the fence, and you will have a happily contained dog.
  • There are no age restrictions on the appropriate age for dog fence training. However, for puppies, it is suggested that 5- 6 months is the best time to start the training.
  • The training flags should be installed about 12″ to your yard side on the dog fence wire in the ground. All of the flags will remain in the yard for about 30 days.
  • After your dogs have had time to get used to the containment system (generally 2-3 months) and remember the location of the boundary, you can start thinning out the flags.

Keeping those fur babies out of harm’s way is one of the best gifts we could ever give them, (aside from treats and car rides) and with a minimal investment you can protect them for a lifetime.
